As a seasoned Customer Success Manager, I possess a distinctive career trajectory that involved transitioning from the hospitality industry to the tech sector.
Following my layoff from hotels, I dedicated myself to strategically networking my way into real estate tech at WeWork.
Subsequently, I pivoted again into SaaS B2B CS by honing my networking skills and refining my interview techniques. Here are some additional details about my journey:
- Leveraging my existing network: I reached out to my existing network of contacts in the real estate industry to explore opportunities in real estate tech. I also built my brand from the ground up.
This helped me secure a role at WeWork, where I gained valuable experience in the tech sector.
- Building new connections: I attended industry events and conferences to expand my network and learn about new opportunities. I then transformed my branding to showcase content, experience and to get noticed.
This helped me connect with professionals in the SaaS B2B space and ultimately land my current role.
- Developing new skills: I recognized that I needed to develop new skills to succeed in the tech sector.
I took online courses in SaaS sales and customer success to gain a better understanding of the industry and improve my job prospects.
- Refining my interview skills: I worked with a career coach to refine my interview skills and develop a compelling narrative about my career transition.
This helped me stand out in the competitive job market and secure my current role.
Overall, my journey from hospitality to tech has been challenging but rewarding.
I have gone from less than 500 connections to well over 2000 followers in less than 1 year with countless job leads, recruiter reach out and startup founders reaching out to me because they noticed my online presence - you can have this too!
