Are you tired of people telling you, "You can't pivot into Customer Success, you have no experience!"

I know I was when I left my Hotel General Manager job, and decided to make a change and pivot into a career that aligned with my values and life goals better.

This pivot isn't easy and some like to sugarcoat this job search - I work as an ATS Customer Success Manager so I'm on the front lines day in and day out talking to hiring manager, recruiters about hiring and it's a grind.

You need to be ready to invest, put in the work and get dialed in with coaching, guidance and accountability.

The best way to get this done is by daily action -- weekly outcomes -- Tracking inputs -- Measuring outputs -- Feedback and refinement.

My goal here is weekly action and accountability to get you measuring your inputs and taking action on your outputs in the job search.

Colin is a great connection in the CSM world. He is in it day to day, has navigated the career transition into the CSM SAAS world and grown as a CSM.
Colin is extremely knowledgeable in several facets of the CSM space and he has the connections to back it up. Personally Colin has helped me not only transition into a CSM role but get connected with other CSM’s around the country. What makes Colin stand out to me is he is not in it for the money, he truly cares and puts his own (limited) free time into designing course work, free content, and resources for others in the space.
Colin has consistently helped me navigate the transition into a CSM role, growing my skillset and knowledge, and leveling up my networking ability.
I cannot recommend him enough to anyone either looking to move into a CSM role or advance their CSM career.

As a seasoned Customer Success Manager, I possess a distinctive career trajectory that involved transitioning from the hospitality industry to the tech sector.
Following my layoff from hotels, I dedicated myself to strategically networking my way into real estate tech at WeWork.
Subsequently, I pivoted again into SaaS B2B CS by honing my networking skills and refining my interview techniques. Here are some additional details about my journey:
- Leveraging my existing network: I reached out to my existing network of contacts in the real estate industry to explore opportunities in real estate tech. I also built my brand from the ground up.
This helped me secure a role at WeWork, where I gained valuable experience in the tech sector.
- Building new connections: I attended industry events and conferences to expand my network and learn about new opportunities. I then transformed my branding to showcase content, experience and to get noticed.
This helped me connect with professionals in the SaaS B2B space and ultimately land my current role.
- Developing new skills: I recognized that I needed to develop new skills to succeed in the tech sector.
I took online courses in SaaS sales and customer success to gain a better understanding of the industry and improve my job prospects.
- Refining my interview skills: I worked with a career coach to refine my interview skills and develop a compelling narrative about my career transition.
This helped me stand out in the competitive job market and secure my current role.
Overall, my journey from hospitality to tech has been challenging but rewarding.
I have gone from less than 500 connections to well over 2000 followers in less than 1 year with countless job leads, recruiter reach out and startup founders reaching out to me because they noticed my online presence - you can have this too!
